Two Poems by stephanie anderson

nothing like acceptance

smudge of blue against a
deep forest cricketing
joists stopped with pigement gumming
over a prerequisite belief
of stasis

the tiniest nail in the house
floats freely in midair
oxidized & aging
waiting to be struck

###

full arc

power lines dust
sparks over cool grass dead
before hitting the ground
aura thick above the skin

lying down & looking up
sparks against the firmament
eyelids wrap around
the problem

a figure in the grass
still humming
